牛津英六第一reading教案

With the assistance of information technology, this lesson is designed to

  1. Provide students a chance to learn something about stand-up comedy and its effect on people.
  2. Enable students to develop reading skills and writing skills.
  3. Develop students’ positive attitude to life.

Teaching tools: computer, PPT, physical showcase

 

Procedure of this lesson:

1. Lead-in:a song called “If you are happy ”.

2. Reading

(1) Read the first part to find the definition of stand-up comedy.

(2) The structure of the article

(3) Read the second part to figure out the types of stand-up and match the description with the type concerned.

(4) Read Part 3 to learn something about a famous comedian

(5)Discuss in pairs and figure out:  what special qualities should a comedian have?

3. Read the last part and find out the reason:

 Why did Bob Hope and George Burns live a long life?

4 .Further thinking

 (1) What does the title mean?

 (2) Besides laughter, what else can we do to make ourselves happy and keep ourselves healthy?

5. Writing
